Home Made Pizza

with 0 comments
I am no domestic Goddess..BUT! I am clever enough to pull things off in 1/2 the time and 1/2 the cost to act like one. In the beginning of my domestication, I tried the full works. Cooking cakes and 4 course meals from scratch. Religiously scrubbing the house while in hot pants to make myself feel that I am sexy regardless of dirty chores. Who was I kidding..there is nothing sexy about mouldy sinks, skid marked toilets and nagging at the other half about the dishes.

I've grown a little smarter and am always looking for short cuts. Well I have to! I'm a working mum and I rather spend my precious time with other pre-occupations than chores.

So as demonstration to some tricks I've learnt to cut time & money, here's what we had over the weekend.

Home-made Pizza Friday

Why call out for pizza when you can make one in about the same time it takes for them to deliver it? Plus you just chuck whatever you have in the fridge that can't keep for another day. I made 2 variations here. A Tuna and a Ham & Cheese one. They start with the same principal

1 Lebanese Bread (or Naan bread or Tortillas from supermarkets - These toast up to a nice crispy thin base)

3-4 Tbsp Tomato Paste

1 Cup grated cheese

1. Start with your base, smear on the tomato paste, then add whatever you like. This round I put 1 small can of chilli tuna, sliced red chillies, cherry tomatoe, some Rocket leaves and slices of red onion. The other one just had organic ham and cheese. Sprinkle cheese over the top.

2. Put in oven/grill - or cut it up and put it in the mini toaster for about 10 mins or till Cheese has melted. Then go and open a can of beer and mosy around the kitchen till you hear the "ding".

3. Eat.

Everyone likes Pizza.
